Apex Legends Best Settings
Any performance guide worth a damn is going to tell you to keep turning settings down until you get a stable framerate. A playable one, even, if you're playing Apex Legends on a slice of months-old apple pie, and your standards are really low. We've all been there, really.
Using the guides prepared by none other than lowspecgamer, you, too, can boost your framerate in Apex Legends! All you need to do is follow the directions featured below, and edit Apex Legends .ini files accordingly.
- Use the following Apex Legends launch options:
+exec autoexec -refresh 75 -dev -console -preload -threads 4 -forcenovsync -fullscreen -high
- Create autoexec.cfg file in \Origin Games\Apex\cfg, open it with a text editor, and paste the following:
fps_max 0
cl_forcepreload 1
mat_compressedtextures 1
cl_ragdoll_collide 0
Here, keep in mind that the cl_forcepreload 1 option might cause excessive stutter on some machines, so if that happens, you know you need to take that one off.
- check out lowspecgamer's special Apex Legends config file and open videoconfig.txt, found in C\Users\lesle\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local. Here, you'll have to go through the settings on your own, manually tweaking stuff according to what lowspecgamer has prepared.
All this combined is demonstrated in the video below, and ought to make for a drastically improved playing experience on a low-end PC. At least, as far as framerate is concerned. The game will look bad, mind.
