Ara: History Untold’s first major update is now live with a multitude of changes that aim to address player feedback following launch and prepare the strategy game for future additions. Dubbed The Invisible Hand, update 1.1 expands the roster of playable leaders by adding Canada’s John A. MacDonald.
His Disciplined trait greatly boosts the production of government and military improvements, but his Pacifist trait makes his units slightly less effective when outside friendly territory, encouraging a more defensive playstyle.

Ara: History Untold’s update 1.1 also introduces a realistic Earth map that replicates our planet’s geography while prioritizing gameplay by giving “each nation a bit of breathing room.”
As of The Invisible Hand update, we can upgrade individual units within armies, which should hopefully reduce the number of times modern and medieval units march off to war together.
The national economy screen aims to streamline resource management and decrease the amount of micromanagement required to stay on top of managing your nation.
It opens the door to global crafting management, supply prioritization, and automated improvements via the policy screen.
The battle viewer has also received improvements in Ara: History Untold’s update 1.1, more clearly showing the effects of units clashing with each other while taking “the first step towards making terrain matter more in combat.”
More than a dozen new amenities have been added increasing the amount of strategic options, while the new advisor system taps into the game’s narrative events to more easily onboard new players and help them with advice as games progress.
Another important addition is the first phase of modding support but even more changes await in the full patch notes for Ara: History Untold’s The Invisible Hand Update.
