In the words of its developer, ArcheAge Chronicles aims to be more than a simple sequel when its release date comes around, aiming to refresh the MMORPG’s formula to “resonate with contemporary audiences” and usher in a new era for the series.
Much like its predecessor, it takes inspiration from across multiple genres, catering to players both peaceful and belligerent. Add to that efforts to refine key elements such as combat and, at least on paper, the world of Auroria sounds like a place worth visiting.

ArcheAge Chronicles is currently targeting a 2025 release date on PC and console, when, barring any unforeseen delays, we will finally be able to become a part of the Age of Pioneers and explore its massive world.

“We’re creating a world where players can enjoy a richly detailed narrative, cinematic sequences, and combat that feels tactile and impactful, all while being part of a shared universe with other adventurers,” said Executive Producer Yongjin Ham, when discussing the team’s goals in a video which you’ll find embedded below.
Leading the charge is an overhauled combat system that puts “focus on precision, skill, and responsiveness” at the forefront in an effort to rival those found in single-player titles within the genre.
ArcheAge Chronicles will primarily focus on its PvE component, although PvP enthusiasts will be able to battle each other.
The developer also notes that our decisions “will have tangible effects on the narrative, influencing how quests unfold and how characters and factions interact with each other.”
Housing, trade runs, farming, and crafting then provide a much-needed break from the action, themselves promising a variety of improvements.
The shift to dedicated housing zones is complemented by the ability to join other players and form communities even outside of those moments when you’re tackling powerful foes.
Although publisher Kakao Games and developer XLGAMES have yet to provide a fixed release date for ArcheAge Chronicles, they have confirmed that more details will be shared in the lead-up to the MMORPG’s 2025 launch.
