Swedish developer Arrowhead Games Studios has announced that it is working on a next-gen third-person co-op shooter.
The AAA co-op shooter is Arrowhead Games Studios’ fifth game, following Helldivers, Gauntlet, The Showdown Effect, and Magicka.
This marks the first time when the developer steps into AAA territory and fans can expect “next-gen graphics, innovative co-op and agency for the community to alter the course of the game.”

“We are incredibly excited to create a new, next-gen, co-op experience for our fans and community. We are looking for talented developers to join us on this journey and are looking forward to sharing more details about the project at a later date.” said Game Director and Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt.
The studio is also looking to grow the team of 65 developers that’s currently working on the upcoming game. You can check out the available positions here.
In our Helldivers review, we called it “one of the best multiplayer games” of 2015. Having received its fifth free expansion in 2019, it’s a pick worth considering if you haven’t yet decided what to play over the holiday break.
