As you advance through the Grantebridgescire story, you’ll eventually reach Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s The Stench of Treachery quest. This guide discusses how to complete it, but do keep in mind that spoilers will inevitably follow.
Eivor is tasked with discovering the identity of the traitor within Soma’s ranks after retaking Grantebridge. Only Birna, Lif or Galinn – all members of her inner circle – could have helped the Anglo-Saxons attack through the tunnels under the city.
Valhalla’s The Stench of Treachery quest then asks you to help each of the three characters in short quests that lead to uncovering more details about the situation.
AC Valhalla The Stench of Treachery Quest and Soma's Traitor
If you want to find all the clues, it’s a good idea to look around the entirety of the broader area around where Soma and her people are now located. Consider also talking to as many of them as you can.
If you don’t feel like following all the threads and uncovering the right person to accuse during AC Valhalla’s The Stench of Treachery quest yourself, we’ll make it easy for you: Soma’s traitor is none other than Galinn.
Accusing Galinn will see Soma ending his life, despite him protesting. Afterward, you’ll lead a raid against the leader of the Anglo-Saxons who attacked Soma’s men, then return to her camp where you’ll be rewarded. As a bonus, Birna also joins the Raven Clan.
If instead you choose the wrong person, Galinn will hold the remaining inner circle member hostage and hurt them when you return to Soma’s camp.
You’ll then have to face him in a boss battle while Anglo-Saxon archers aid him. Soma won’t be particularly happy about this outcome but won’t blame Eivor for making the wrong choice.
That’s all you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s The Stench of Treachery quest and who to name as traitor in Soma’s ranks.
