With Atomfall, developer Rebellion explores new territories, giving us a post-apocalyptic survival-action experience set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster ravaged Northern England. As it’s quite different from the studio’s usual fare, you may want to know when the title will be available on Xbox and PC Game Pass.
Atomfall’s arrival on both Xbox/PC Game Pass was confirmed as early as Gamescom 2024 trailer aired, introducing us to its world and a handful of characters we’ll meet during our journey.

Since then, many more details have been revealed, and we can now confirm that Atomfall will officially be available on Xbox and PC Game Pass as soon as it launches for all players, on March 27, 2025.

As indicated by its Microsoft Store page, the title’s standard version is set to join the popular video game subscription service. This means that any active Xbox or PC Game Pass subscriber can download the base game and play it in its entirety once it is released.
If the story expansion in the Deluxe Edition catches your eye, you will, sadly, have to purchase it either separately, once it’s out, or by getting the whole edition. This remains a common practice for most games available through Microsoft’s subscription service.
In our hands-on preview, we found that the post-apocalyptic survival-action game “could have just enough juice to capture the attention of thrill-seekers looking to escape bigger and more time-consuming open-world experiences.”
That covers what you need to know about when Atomfall will be available on Xbox and PC Game Pass. For more on Rebellion’s latest, check out our articles detailing its different available editions and delving into whether or not it’s also headed to GeForce Now.
