Baldur’s Gate 3’s patch 3 release date marks yet another step in the game’s post-launch journey, as developer Larian Studios works to address issues with its impressive RPG while factoring in player feedback.
BG3’s patch 3 release date remained a mystery for a while after patch 2 went live, which isn’t entirely unexpected. The developer’s modus operandi generally involves sharing updates when things are locked in or close to launching.

Around the middle of September 2023, however, that changed. The team behind the game confirmed in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Baldur’s Gate 3’s patch 3 release date is set to occur on September 21, 2023.
On that date, it announced a slight delay, until September 22, in order “to ensure thorough testing.”

As far as content goes, we know that “full support for BG3 on Mac” is on the way alongside the Magic Mirror, which allows us to chance our characters’ appearance, voice, and pronouns, with the exception of Origin characters.
A host of fixes are also part of the update, as are performance improvements in the Lower City area. Shapeshifting into most forms will no longer prompt NPCs to frantically run away.
In addition, Mummies raised through the Create Undead spell have gained the ability to jump and should more reliably navigate terrain while following you arround.
