Playing Baldur’s Gate 3 alongside friends can significantly dial up the fun as you bicker over your characters’ choices and find new ways to murder enemies (or each other). Since it now is a multiplatform release and likely one of the best CRPGs ever, you may be wondering if crossplay is available.
Baldur’s Gate 3 cross-platform support would essentially break down the barrier between platforms, ensuring that players can adventure together regardless of which system they’re usually gaming on.
Baldur's Gate 3 Crossplay Support
As of September 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on PC and PS5, with an Xbox version expected to launch later this year.
Unfortunately, while cross-saves are available between PC and PS5, crossplay is currently limited to just PC.
More specifically, Steam and GoG users can play together, as per a FAQ article posted on the former storefront’s discussions section.

That being said, developer Larian Studios has confirmed, speaking with Eurogamer, that Baldur’s Gate 3 cross-platform support is coming.
“It was always in the planning,” Director of Publishing Michael Douse told the website, “but we knew it wouldn’t be for launch. It’s in the roadmap, and though we have an idea of when we’d like to get it ready for, we don’t want to put a date on it until we’re sure.”
No further details were shared at this time, but this hopefully means that, at some point in the future, PC, PS5, and Xbox players will be able to effortlessly team up to save or doom Faerûn.
That is what we know so far about Baldur’s Gate 3 crossplay and whether or not cross-platform support is planned.
