What’s the Morgue Lever for in BG3? While navigating Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll come across the House of Healing. This grand edifice contains a morgue with an enigmatic lever, which, upon initial observation, appears to lack a clear function.
However, looks can be misleading. Much like numerous elements in Larian Studio’s expansive RPG, the morgue lever in BG3 has a purpose. We’ll delve into its significance below.
Baldur's Gate 3 House of Healing Morgue Lever
To reach the House of Healing morgue, you’ll have to skirt around the exterior of the imposing building’s western side. You’ll eventually reach a paved path guarded by a handful of enemies, including Shadows, which you’ll likely need to dispatch.
After clearing the way to BG3’s morgue, proceed inside. In the primary corridor, a group of seemingly dormant zombies awaits. At first glance, they appear inconspicuously sprawled on the floor. However, these zombies are obstructing a set of vents that emit poisonous clouds. Be wary of these once the skirmish ensues.
Some party formations fare better in this situation. It’s prudent to include at least one ranged spellcaster to tackle the mobs from a distance. Subsequently, you can place objects over the vents to neutralize the poison. Once you’ve secured the main hall of BG3’s morgue, observe the door on your right. Adjacent to it is a lever that’s non-operational. However, this isn’t the lever we’re focusing on.
Proceed to the hallway’s end and navigate beyond the morgue lab door. Inside, a Perception check awaits. If you pass, you’ll spot the morgue lever from Baldur’s Gate 3 nestled between two stone tables. One of these tables holds a bottle of Karabasan’s Poison.
At first, interacting with the lever appears fruitless. However, this action subtly eases your exploration of the area. Return to the main hall and engage the lever located next to the door on your right upon entry. Now functional, this lever will unlock the adjacent door, allowing entry to the area beyond. To your left, there’s a reachable platform. Consider jumping to it, or use spells such as Misty Step or Githyanki Psionics: Jump for assistance.
Atop the platform lies a gilded chest. Once unlocked, you can retrieve the Fleshmelter Cloak from within. When worn, this cloak inflicts Acid damage on creatures that land melee attacks on the wearer.
This wraps up our coverage on the function of the morgue lever in Baldur’s Gate 3. Now that you’re informed, delve deeper into the Necromancy of Thay and discover the significance of the Dark Amethyst.
