It’s claimed that Bam Margera will appear in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 after all, following earlier confirmation from Activision that the skateboarder will not be featured in the game.
Activision announced a follow-up to Pro Skater 1 + 2 earlier this year, also announcing a list of skaters who will be appearing in the remastered collection of Pro Skater 3 + 4. In addition to Hawk himself, the list includes the likes of Geoff Rowley, Elissa Steamer, and Bucky Lasek.
One name was absent from the list at the time though – Bam Margera. This led to players assuming the former Jackass and CKY star would not be included in the game’s character roster. Since Margera first appeared in Pro Skater 3, the omission seemed odd.
Despite this, it’s now rumored that Margera will in fact be appearing in Pro Skater 3 + 4. On The Nine Club skating podcast [via Video Games Chronicle], co-host Roger Bagley claimed Hawk demanded Activision add the skater to the game at the last minute.
“The game was already done,” Bagley said. “Tony called up Activision and was like ‘Hey, we’re putting Bam in the thing’, and they were like ‘Hey, we can’t’.
“He goes ‘No, you’re going to do it’, and basically made them fly Bam back out there to get body-scanned and everything else, and get him back in the game.”
It was believed that Margera’s earlier legal and health issues were the reason for his absence from the Pro Skater 3 + 4 character roster. However, shortly after the announcement Margera and Hawk were spotted reunited at Hawk’s skate park, so this may not have been the case.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is due for release on July 11th, 2025. It will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch and will feature full cross-platform online multiplayer.
