It's been a long time since Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight, and even longer since the other Batman Arkham studio WB Montreal - creators of Batman: Arkham Origins - had a release. Now, however, the studio is teasing a new game reveal or release for 2019 - could it be the next Batman Arkham game?
Batman: Arkham Origins came out in 2013, and since then the only release from WB Montreal was the Batgirl DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight. 2019 may finally bring the studio's next game, and it's looking very likely to be a Batman title.
The latest in a long string of teases from the WB Montreal comes from Creative Director Patrick Redding, who's best known for Far Cry 2 and the last two Splinter Cell games. They've been teasing a project simply called "REDACTED", and this week he tweeted out this:
Happy Holidays from all of us at @WBGamesMTL ... And may 2019 bring you everything you wish! https://t.co/jGQlG8ylup

If you can't see it, the picture is a gif of the team partying while holding a sign reading "REDACTED". Redding and other members of WB Montreal have previously tweeted other teases, including a shirt showing the symbol of the Court of Owls - the sinister organization introduced in the New 52 Batman comics, who would make a fine choice for antagonists in a game.

One ResetEra user actually noticed the LinkedIn page of WB Montreal artist Ricardo Alex-Vincent boasted something called "Project 2019", which has since been deleted.
With Rocksteady shooting down rumours of a Superman game, the time is right for the return of the Dark Knight to videogames. Let's hope 2019 does indeed bring "everything we wish"...
