The Bethesda Launcher will shut down later this year as the publisher moves back to Steam. A migration process will kick off at some point in early April, allowing players to transfer their game libraries, saves, and wallet to Valve’s storefront.
Any games you own on the Bethesda Launcher will remain playable until May, when the software will go offline. Afterwards, you will have to complete the migration process before you can access them again.
“The migration to Steam will include your game library and Wallet – meaning you will not lose anything from your Bethesda.net account. Many games will also have their saves migrated, with a few requiring some manual transfers,” reads a post on the publisher’s website.
“For games that require it, you will still use your Bethesda.net login to sign in to play. Your Bethesda.net account will not be lost and will still be accessible on our website and in-game, and we will continue supporting all Bethesda.net accounts with our future titles.”
The publisher also stresses that while playing games via the Bethesda Launcher will no longer be possible starting with May, users “will not lose access to [their] Library.”
Specific details regarding the migration process to Steam will be shared at a later date. If you own games on the Bethesda Launcher, there’s a FAQ section in the article linked above that should answer all of your question. Fallout 76 users can find a separate set of answers on the game’s website.
