Developer Cyanide has revealed more details about Blood Bowl 3 during the Games Made in France event that took place at the end of October, including the 12 teams available at launch and how deep its customization will go.
Blood Bowl 3’s 12 launch teams will include familiar faces alongside four new additions, two of them – the Black Orcs and the Imperial Nobility – coming straight from the tabletop game’s latest edition.
The Imperials take to the field with skills that limit their opponents’ movement. They’re joined by the Old World Alliance and Chaos Renegades, a faction “made up of players so dirty and cheating that no other team wanted them.”

Running on the Unreal Engine, Blood Bowl 3 keeps multiplayer as its backbone while also featuring a campaign mode and Special Play Cards that can grant temporary skills to units or even take out enemy players before matches begin.
As far as customization goes, the third entry in the series will have more options than its predecessors, including “colours, patterns, logos, pieces of armour, stadiums and many other elements can be changed.”
Cyanide also aims to provide post-launch support for the title in the shape of new content, patches and competitions. If you haven’t skipped your French classes, you can check out the full interview on Twitch.
In case you’re out of the loop, Cyanide’s Blood Bowl series is the digital version of the popular Warhammer Fantasy-themed tabletop game.
It’s known for offering a rather unique blend of strategy and American footbal in which fair play is sometimes optional.
Bloow Bowl 3 is the first title in the series to be published by Nacon. It is aiming for an early 2021 release on PC, current-gen consoles including Nintendo Switch, as well as next-gen consoles.
