Borderlands 3 is going to have the most varied gun selection of all previous Borderlands games, including wrist-mounted smart guns, cyclical assault rifles, and, of course, guns with legs - among other assorted killing machines. Manufacturer brand loyalty will also, it seems, be coming into play.
Borderlands 3 weapon manufacturers list is quite substantial, and references almost every gun maker we've ever seen in this franchise. Each manufacturer having their own gimmick is nothing new, but Borderlands 3 will bring this to a whole another level.
Borderlands 3 Weapon Brand Gimmicks</h2>
Here's how Borderlands 3 gun manufacturers will differ from one another in practical gameplay terms:
ATLAS: - guns can fire tracker tags which can then be rapidly followed-up with a hail of smart bullets
COV: - infinite ammo, though may randomly overheat
DAHL: - alternate fire modes, each coming with different stats and bonuses
JAKOBS: - devastating critical hits and shots that ricochet from one target to the other
TEDIORE: - guns can't be reloaded, so you throw them at enemies as smart grenades instead
TORGUE: - can switch between regular and sticky-projectile firing modes, with stickies doing more damage if you manage to detonate more of them on a single target
VLADOF: - can take various under-barrel attachments such as tasers, rocket tubes, and even more gun barrels
MALIWAN: - guns have two elemental affinities which can be freely toggled between; guaranteed elemental damage
HYPERION: - weapons grow more precise as the trigger is held, but aiming down sights also triggers mounted gun-shields which can provide a layer of protection in a pinch
There's been word of gun customisation in Borderlands 3, and the Vladof flavour text practically confirms this to be true. How exactly brand loyalty perks extend into customisation, however, we do not know, but rest assured that we will post about it as soon as we find out.
