Borderlands 3 has finally been revealed, after what seems like years of teasing from Gearbox, but the big question now is: when is it coming out? When is the Borderlands 3 release date? Well, it's entirely possible that information may be revealed next week, but it may already have appeared hidden in the Borderlands 3 trailer.
Eagled-eyed watchers poring over every frame of the trailer may have one or two Borderlands 3 trailer secrets, but could the biggest secret of them all - the release date itself - be right in front of us? Let's have a look.
You can check out the Borderlands 3 trailer below, but you may not have been looking as carefully as Reddit user Zottelpanda, who noticed two significant numbers in the trailer displayed prominently on the side of buildings. You can see both in the pictures above, or at around 1:40 and 1:52 in the trailer.
There are two buildings with numbers in the trailer, and crucially - they're both in the same font, despite being attached to wildly different buildings on different planets. The numbers are 01 and 10.
Now, these can be taken hopefully or pessimistically. Zottelpanda notes that the building with '10' on it actually appears first, the second before the building with '01' on it - however, the number itself cannot be seen until later. They take this to mean the release date could be as soon as October the 1st, in the US date format.
However, if we ignore that fact that the building appears first and just focus on the appearance of the numbers, then the release date could be just as easily January the 10th, 2020.
Both release dates are conceivable for Borderlands 3, certainly, and Gearbox are known for hiding stuff in their trailers. We've been promised more information for next week, Wednesday April 3rd in fact, so hopefully that'll include a release date.
