Balance
Axe
We have decreased the Damage on the grounded version of Axe Down Air to better match its nature as a setup tool for subsequent attacks. We have also slightly reduced the Force and Damage on the rear portion of the aerial Down Air to better match its overall coverage and incentivize proper facing during this attack.
- Axe Down Air: Decreased Damage during the later Hit Window from 18 to 15; Decreased the Force of the later Hit Window from 40 Fixed/27 Variable to 40 Fixed/24 Variable; Decreased Damage of the grounded version from 18 to 13.
Blasters
The Blasters Side Air now has less Stun to bring the length of its low-health combos and potential Damage output closer in line with the other weapon kits.
- Blasters Side Air: Decreased Stun from a range of 27~23 to a range of 24~20.
Bow
We have reduced the rear threat coverage on the Bow Side Light’s follow-up shot to better match the animation. The Bow Ground Pound now has slightly reduced threat coverage near the top of the user for more reliable dodges through this attack.
- Bow Side Light: Decrease maximum rear threat of the follow-up arrow shot on hit.
- Bow Ground Pound: Decreased upper threat coverage.
Cannon
Cannon’s Neutral Light and Side Light attacks have both received increased Stun for tighter string follow-ups. The Side Light has also received a major adjustment to its setup location, leaving the target closer to the user after any portion of the attack for more reliable follow-up attacks.
- Cannon Neutral Light: Increased Stun from 25 to 26.
- Cannon Side Light: Increased Stun from a range of 29~24 to a range of 30~25; Setup location has been adjusted for greater consistency.
Hammer
Some power has been shifted from the Hammer’s aerial kit into its grounded approach tool. The Side Light now has greater Stun during the later portion of the Hit Window for tighter follow-ups when carefully spacing this attack, while the Hammer Recovery has increased Cooldown on both hit and miss to open wider windows of counterplay against repeated use of this attack.
- Hammer Side Light: Increase Stun of the later Hit Window from a range of 21~17 to a range of 23~19.
- Hammer Recovery: Increased Cooldown on miss from 15 to 19; Increased Cooldown on hit from 11 to 14.
Katar
The Katar Down Light has been altered to behave as a designated setup attack, adjusting its Force to leave the target in a specific location. This grants more reliable follow-up strings even when striking an airborne opponent with this attack.
- Katar Down Light: Changed Force from a range of 48~42 Fixed/8 Variable to 60 Fixed/0 Variable; Now includes setup location behavior similar to other designated setup attacks.
Rocket Lance
With its strong control of the neutral game, we have created Dodge Windows in two of the Rocket Lance’s most damaging combo routes. The Recovery attack now has slightly increased Minimum Charge time to open dodge opportunities after a Side Light, with the Exhausted Recovery also receiving a similar increase in its Time to Hit. The Rocket Lance Neutral Light has received a decrease in Stun to prevent overly damaging combos during early health ranges. We have also reduced the Damage of the Neutral Light to better match its overall threat coverage and Time to Hit.
- Rocket Lance Recovery: Increased Minimum Charge time from 11 to 12; Increased Time to Hit of the Exhausted version from 9 to 10.
- Rocket Lance Neutral Light: Decreased Stun from 25 to 23; Decreased Damage from 20 to 17.
Spear
The Spear Down Light’s Force and setup location has been adjusted to leave the target slightly closer to the user for more reliable Gravity Canceled follow-up attacks in a wider range of situations. The Spear Side Light no longer has Variable Force and has been similarly adjusted to leave the target in a more consistent setup location in most situations.
- Spear Down Light: Decreased Force from 65 Fixed/0 Variable to 48 Fixed/0 Variable; Angle of knockback is now slightly less horizontal.
- Spear Side Light: Changed Force from 50 Fixed/10 Variable to 90 Fixed/0 Variable; Setup location has been adjusted for greater consistency.
Sword
We have significantly decreased the Force of the Sword Side Light to leave the target in a closer location for more reliable follow-up attacks at all health ranges. With this increased consistency, we have slightly reduced the Stun of this attack to leave a Dodge Window at close range.
- Sword Side Light: Decreased Force from 80 Fixed/16 Variable to 78 Fixed/4 Variable; Decreased Stun from 15 to 14.
Unarmed
The Unarmed Side Air and Side Heavy have both received updates to their hitboxing to more closely follow the fist’s path, resulting in less rear threat coverage on these attacks. The Side Air has also received a reduction in Stun during the later portion of the Hit Window, to prevent extreme frame advantage from a falling Side Air. We have also reduced the Force of the Unarmed Neutral Heavy to bring its knockout potential closer in line with other similar options.
- Unarmed Side Air: Progressively decreased rear threat coverage throughout the Hit Window; Stun has been changed from 17 to a range of 17~11.
- Unarmed Neutral Heavy: Decrease Force from 40 Fixed/52 Variable to 40 Fixed/46 Variable.
- Unarmed Side Heavy: Decreased threat coverage, resulting in less range towards the rear and top of the attack, and slightly less forward range.
Game Improvements

- Numbers for indicating Mission progress and goals now use commas to increase readability.
