Revolution Software has informed Kickstarter backers that it will be delaying the release of Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged from Q2 until Q3 2024 because it wants more time to “further enhance the animations, fine-tuning the cut scenes, and including some of the features” backers have requested.
Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is a remastering that aims to enhance the classic with 4K visuals, vividly bringing to life its picturesque landscapes in HDR, with detailed character models, and intricate environments all brought back to life from the original.
George and Nico are the stars of the show as you follow them on a trail of mystery from the bustling streets of Paris to exotic locations across Europe and the Middle East. We particularly like a little part in the game where you visit Ireland, Lochmarne.
One feature the team has implemented is a toggle that allows you to revert to the original 1996 visuals and audio at the press of a button.
“The combination of the love, and passion that you have shown Broken Sword, plus the additional funding from this Kickstarter means that we can ensure that this will be of an even higher quality than we had originally hoped, and for that we’re deeply grateful,” concluded Revolution Software in its Kickstarter message.
Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged will be released for the PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5, Android, and iOS devices when it launches in Q3 2024.
