If there's one thing better than buying a new game, then it's buying a new game only to get yet another one free. One such offer comes from GoG this time, who have packed the much-touted Warhammer 40k: Gladius - Relics of War with Warhammer 40k: Rites of War, a moderately obscure hex-based strategy game originally released in 1999.
This turn-based title was built on the Panzer General 2 engine, and has players take up arms as an Eldar overseer in an effort to stifle a global Tyranid Hive Fleet invasion. With only three playable factions (the Eldar, the Tyranid and the Astra Militarum, combined with some Astartes and Adepta Sororitas units), this is a significantly more focused and competitive title than most other modern WH40k strategies, which may make for a decent change of pace for some.
If you're eager to invest even more money into Warhammer 40k: Gladius - Relics of War, the Deluxe Edition may well be what you're looking for. This version of the game, priced at €37,99, includes the base game, the soundtrack, additional wallpapers and an exclusive, neutral unit for all four factions to employ: the Lord of Skulls.
Of course, buying the Deluxe Edition via GoG will get you Rites of War as well, which essentially makes this the most cost-effective version of the game you could buy. Whether you like the additional goodies or not is another matter, mind.
On the off chance that you're not yet familiar with Warhammer 40k: Gladius - Relics of War, be sure to check out our review of the game as well, which may help in forming a proper opinion on whether it's a game for you or not. The essence of it is that it's a beautifully-realised title that's slightly disappointing in that it doesn't bring much novelty to the 4X table at all.
