Call of Cthulhu is out now, and while it has some problems it's still a worthy adventure-RPG to try. At least it doesn't devolve into a lacklustre shooter like the similar Dark Corners of the Earth, but there is a Call of Cthulhu gun in the game.
Where is the gun in Call of Cthulhu? How and when do you get it? How big a part of the game is the shooting? We've got the answers.
How to Get a Call of Cthulhu Gun
If you've checked out the controls for Call of Cthulhu, you'll notice the conspicuous "shoot" button, despite Pierce not using his Colt gun. Well, there is a part of the game where he does use it, but the shooting section is confined to just a short part of the game - quite late in the proceedings.
We won't spoil the events, but around 6 hours into the game, in Chapter 11 and 12, the locals will start to turn nasty. You'll then be able to pull out the gun Pierce has been holding this whole time, and if you so wish, shoot them. Despite there being no UI counter, be aware that you have a limited amount of bullets, so be careful with your shots and only shoot when necessary.
Furthermore, only shoot when the fist sign above enemies' heads turns red. Don't let them get too close though, since it's an instant fail if they catch you. Then at the end of the chapter you'll put the gun away and never see it again...
