Chernobylite is the latest title that takes players to the ravaged lands of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone but also one that might just prove to be one of the year’s sleeper hits. Its ambitious blend of stealth and first-person shooter action, base-building, team management, RPG elements, and roguelike stylings is executed quite well, which might see some wondering about whether or not it is coming to Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart in 2021.
Chernobylite ties all the elements mentioned above together through its story, following Igor, a scientist who formerly worked on the doomed nuclear power plant, in his search for Tatyana, his fiancée. Let’s see if Xbox Game Pass subscribers can aid him in his efforts.
You might have learned about developer The Farm 51’s latest effort during its time in Steam Early Access, when it went through some tweaking before its July 2021 PC release. At launch, however, Chernobylite is not available on Xbox Game Pass for PC and there currently are no hints as to when we might expect it on Microsoft’s subscription service.
This naturally means that you won’t find it on the console variant of the Xbox Game Pass, although an Xbox One launch is scheduled to follow later in the year, on September 7. Perhaps that’s also when we’ll learn more about whether or not Chernobylite is coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2021.
Although everyone’s stuck with a traditional purchase at the moment, going for one might just be worth it. In our review, we found the game to be perfect for those players who “love the atmosphere of Eastern European survival games but hate the jank.” We’ll keep you posted on any news regarding Chernobylite’s arrival on Xbox Game Pass as soon as we hear more.
