Children of Morta is an action RPG that places a significant emphasis on its local 2-player COOP multiplayer. For this reason, players are curious whether developers are aiming to introduce online COOP for more than 2 players.
It just so happens that Dead Mage, the talent behind Children of Morta, has already explained what’s up with online multiplayer, how many players will be able to join, and how it’s all going to mesh together.
4 Player Online COOP Children of Morta?
Since Dead Mage employees are very active on the official Children of Morta subreddit, users have already asked whether a fully-fledged 4-player COOP will ever be coming to the game. The answer, however, may disappoint some of you: “We did a lot of testing for various co-op modes and 4-player co-op just didn’t work for Children of Morta. It was too chaotic and it watered down the experience,” said a developer.
This is, fairly understandable, given how hectic gameplay can get. As it stands, Children of Morta has got local 2-player COOP multiplayer enabled, with online mode coming sometime in the near future. This means the game will do perfectly if you’re looking for something to enjoy with a mate or a partner, but not if you’ve got a bigger gaming group to support.
There’s been no word yet on when, exactly the online multiplayer update will drop, but we’ll keep you posted. In other news, Children of Morta has shown itself to be quite a success, as it recouped its development costs in just a few days.
