Have you just recently picked up Chivalry 2 on the Epic Games Store and are now wondering if it supports crossplay between all platforms?
Its Battlefields are ready to be bloodied by players thirsting to show off their skills in battle. But whether you’re a stalwart, shield-bearing defender, a cowardly crossbowman, or just prefer throwing boulders at everything you see, you may be wondering if Chivalry 2’s crossplay has been available since its launch in June 2022.
Chivalry 2’s crossplay support has been discussed since before release. There were even closed and open beta tests, during which developer Torn Banner Studios sought to test stability and iron out remaining kinks.
Chivalry 2 Crossplay Support
This, naturally, means that Chivalry 2 did launch with crossplay support. Hopping into the game, you will be able to fight with and against others between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
But while matchmaking won’t lock you to playing with only your PC and console peers, actually teaming up with friends who might own different versions of the game is still harder than it should be.
“Cross-platform Parties were not a planned feature for June 8, 2021 Launch. We acknowledge that our messaging around what Chivalry 2 ‘cross-play’ would and wouldn’t entail confusion,” the developer explains in the FAQ article on the game’s official website.
Chivalry 2 cross-platform parties are often brought up in online discussions and, although the developer previously expected them to go live in Summer/Q3 2022, the feature finally made it into the game in 2023 with the Raiding Party update.
- Chivalry 2 crossplay status: Available since launch
- Chivalry 2 cross-platform parties status: Available with Raiding Party update in 2023
This essentially means that, although servers will be populated with players on different platforms – as long as they have crossplay turned on – you will be able to invite friends to parties.
