Cities: Skylines 2 promises a handful of notable improvements in terms of both the tools we have at our disposal to build cities and overall visual fidelity. The sequel boasts some fairly impressive graphics, which naturally leads to questions regarding its system requirements and the PC specs we’ll need to run it.
Cities: Skylines 2’s system requirements have, predictably, seen a fairly significant bump from its predecessor. To some extent, this was to be expected since it does allow us to place more detailed buildings across sprawling expanses. Rendering growing cities is bound to prove more taxing for our PC specs.
Cities: Skylines 2 System Requirements
In practice, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD equivalent are listed as the recommended GPUs for the sequel, alongside a 12th generation Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X CPUs.
Although its minimum requirements do suggest that older hardware will be able to run the game, you might have to turn settings down to low.
If you plan on squeezing every last bit of detail out of your cities, it might be time to at least consider an upgrade.
Here are Cities: Skylines II’s system requirements, as detailed on the title’s Steam page:

There’s quite a bit of ground to cover between the PC specs listed above. It is also possible that tinkering with the graphical settings might get the title running acceptably on a variety of different hardware, but it’s hard to be certain before release.
Nevertheless, these are Cities: Skylines II’s system requirements and the PC specs we’ll need to run it.
