Civilization 6 is getting its Babylon Pack DLC next week and developer Firaxis has revealed more details about the 4x strategy game’s newest faction, whose leader is Hammurabi himself.
Known for the code of law bearing his name, Hammurabi leads a science-focused Babylon in Civilization 6.
When a specialty district is constructed for the first time, his ability, Ninu Ilu Sirum, also constructs the lowest Production cost building in that district for free. It also grants a bonus Envoy whenever any other type of district is built for the first time, but does not apply to the Government Plaza.

Babylon’s unique ability, Enuma Anu Enlil, plays heavily into its science focus in Civilization 6. It enables Eurekas to provide all of the Science neede to research technologies, but also decreases the amount of Science the civilization generates each turn.
An inclination towards learning doesn’t mean that Babylon is slacking in the military department, either.
Wielding a spear and a shield, its unqiue unique Ancient Era melee unit – the Sabum Kibittum – is stronger against heavy and light cavalry units, while also benefitting from increased movement and sight.
Lastly, the Palgum is Hammurabi’s unique building. It replaces the Watermill and can be unlocked through Irrigation.
The Palgum grants additional Production and Housing, and also increases the amount of Food that Freshwater tiles generate. Taking advantage of these bonuses, however, requires the city to be adjacent to a river.
The Babylon Pack also adds a new mode called Heroes and Legends, which focuses on powerful mythical characters.
Civilization 6’s Babylon Pack DLC is part of the New Frontier Pass and launches on November 19 on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
It will also be available for individual purchase and priced at £3.99 or your regional equivalent.
