Crusader Kings 3 fans can look forward to a livelier world this spring with the release of the game’s latest expansion, Tours and Tournaments.
This expansion DLC, which was unveiled during the Paradox Announcement Show 2023, will introduce new activities for characters to engage in. Additionally, the expansion will include a new travel system that allows players to plan routes to exciting events like pilgrimages, grand weddings, and the titular tours and tournaments.
CK3: Tours and Tournaments DLC
In Tours and Tournaments, characters who participate in tournaments or plan extravagant weddings can increase their prestige or abilities. However, as is typical in CK3, not all new activities come without risk. While hunting large game or traveling to distant lands can bring great renown, death by swarms of tiny bloodsucking insects or other unforeseen dangers may be just one event away.
Here are the features you can expect from CK3: Tours and Tournaments, as detailed by the publisher:
- Grand Tournaments: Host a grand demonstration of feats of arms, attracting nearby nobles and wandering knights. Choose the events, set the destination, and use the tournament to improve your social standing or military prowess.
- Grand Tours: Take a trip through your realm to take stock of your vassals, gifting them with your benevolence or extorting them for higher taxes.
- Grand Weddings: Save your gold for an elaborate ceremony that centers the real meaning of marriage - politics. Honour your in-laws, cater to your vassals, and demonstrate your power.
- Travel System: Plan your route to these great activities, choosing safety through civilized lands or risking everything for a more direct route through dark forests or dangerous mountains. Ease your way with a large entourage that marks your importance or travel light so you can get down to business.
- Knightly Accolades: Honour your best knights with special titles and accolades that will givebonuses to them and the armies they lead.
- New Armour Designs: New historical armour designs from across the centuries, integrated with the new Tournament and Accolade systems.
- New Western Clothing: New art for clothing designs will show how fashions changed and evolved in Western Europe from the time of the Carolignians to the closing of the medieval era.
Crusader Kings 3: Tours and Tournaments is set to launch at some point during spring 2023 on PC and will be accompanied by a free update that will be available for all owners of the base game.
The Tours and Tournaments expansion introduces a new activity menu that offers updated interactions for pilgrimages, feasts, and hunts, along with more complex regency relations management. Additionally, significant changes to vassal relations and domain management have been implemented.
