Cyberpunk 2077’s notoriously rough launch made gaming history, developer CD Projekt Red dedicating the entirety of 2021 to fixing the game and bringing it closer to the level of polish it should have originally had. After several updates addressed various issues over the past couple of months, players are now looking towards patch 1.4’s release date for the next notable set of changes.
The developer hasn’t spoken too much about Cyberpunk 2077’s patch 1.4 release date up until this point, but there are a few bits of information that could help us estimate when we might see it going live.
Let’s begin with the previous updates. Cyberpunk 2077’s first major update went live in late January, followed by patch 1.2 at the end of March. Patch 1.3 launched around the middle of August. The time difference between updates suggests that there’s no set schedule in place, which makes it tough to estimate what patch 1.4’s release date might be.
Nevertheless, based on the (almost) five months between the game’s last two updates, we wouldn’t expect to see patch 1.4 launch before December, and even that might be a bit optimistic.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that CD Projekt Red has recently delayed the next generation updates for both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 until 2022. The former’s is expected to launch during the first quarter of next year.
In November, Joint CEO Adam Kiciński noted that the developer plans to bundle the game’s next-gen update with patch 1.5, both of which are launching in Q1 2022. It’s not confirmed yet, but this could mean that patch 1.4 might end up skipped over.
While there’s no confirmed link between Cyberpunk 2077’s patch 1.4 and the next generation updates at the moment, it sounds very likely that both might go live in 2022.
On February 15, 2022, the developer confirmed that patch 1.5 would be Cyberpunk 2077’s next update, which means that patch 1.4 will be skipped over.
