If you’ve spent some time surviving the post-apocalyptic world of DayZ, chances are you may be wondering whether a DayZ 2 release date might be on the horizon.
The original title, which began its life as an ARMA 2 mod, gained quite a sizeable following both during its stay in early access and following its full release. But as the years pass, players who’ve exhausted everything they wanted to do are shifting their attention towards a potential DayZ 2 release date.
DayZ 2 Release Date
Bohemia Interactive has yet to discuss a potential sequel to its popular survival game. In fact, the first mention of DayZ 2 came from an internal Xbox document submitted for a hearing during the FTC v Microsoft trial targeting the latter’s intended acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
- DayZ 2 release date: Unknown
This document named DayZ 2 as one of three titles in-development at Bohemia Interactive alongside ARMA 4 and Arma Reforger, but did not shed any light on a potential release date.
Replying to IGN, a Bohemia Interactive Spokesperson confirmed that the studio is “expanding our focus regarding the possibilities of the DayZ game, brand, and team itself,” but without offering any specific details.
“There are numerous projects Bohemia Interactive dev teams are currently exploring/working on, but they will be officially revealed when & only after we feel the time is right.”
With DayZ 2 technically still not officially announced, it’s hard to even estimate when a potential release date might happen.
If a sequel is to see the light of day sooner or later, though, we’ll certainly hear about it from its developer.
