Dead By Daylight has essentially become an online hunting resort for the world’s most twisted and deadly killers to strut their stuff. As of today, Dead by Daylight features 26 different killers to slay plucky survivors with, in service of The Entity.
Players can choose from movie icons, familiar slasher types, video game nasties, and delightfully leftfield killers; there’s plenty of variety in the roster. Below is a list of all 26 Dead by Daylight Killers and a brief overview of what they bring to the table.
Dead by Daylight Killer List
Trapper (Evan MacMillan)
Dead By Daylight’s poster boy is, as his name says, a bit fond of setting traps. A hulking giant swathed in scars and cracked skin, the Trapper carries a homemade rusty cleaver to finish off those who fall foul of his gnarly bear traps. Even if survivors don’t get caught in those, this grim colossus will still invoke tougher skill checks by his mere presence and obliterate health with brutal attacks.
Hillbilly (Max Thompson Jr.)
This disfigured hammer-wielding maniac is bad enough when he’s lumbering after you normally with a very real threat of violent head trauma, but when his chainsaw comes out, survivors will really panic.
Hag (Lisa Sherwood)
Perhaps the closest Dead By Daylight has to its own Blair Witch, The Hag was born from an encounter with mysterious forces on a stormy night in the woods. The Hag’s weapon of choice is a grisly claw that she drinks survivors’ blood from. The Hag can shape mud into decoys, luring hapless victims into her bony grasp, especially when used with Phantasm traps, which can teleport The Hag up to 40 meters when survivors trigger them.
Huntress (Anna)
The Huntress has an axe to grind with Dead By Daylight’s survivors. She’s not particularly mad at them for anything, she just likes using her axe to cleave her victims into a meaty woodpile. Anna can hurl these woodcutting tools at potential victims from a distance, and replenish them from the storage sheds that survivors use to hide in. You’ll know she’s coming when you hear her creepy humming.
The Shape (Micheal Myers)
He’s stalked Haddonfield for more than 40 years, and now he takes a rare trip away from home to play for The Entity’s team. Micheal Myers brings the synth-backed, breathy menace of the original John Carpenter film to Dead By Daylight. Myers can ‘stalk’ survivors to fill his ‘Evil Within’ power. This three-stage ability eventually allows Micheal to see multiple survivors highlighted at any time.
The Plague (Adiris)
A Babylonian High Priestess who tragically succumbed to the plague, but emerged as a cursed creature riddled with cysts and blackened skin. The Plague uses the Profane Censer to inflict damage, and her blood-clogged bile to infect the environment and survivors alike. Infected survivors then vomit, causing the infection to spread further.
The Spirit (Rin Yamaoka)
The Yamaokas bring some Eastern terror to Dead By Daylight’s murder squad. This ethereal menace is the manifestation of Rin’s vengeance after being brutally murdered by her father. Rin is able to phase walk (teleport) over distances without alerting survivors to her presence thanks to Yamaoka’s Haunting then her poor victims will likely meet their end at Rin’s shattered katana.
Oni (Kazan Yamaoka)
The Oni is another spirit of vengeance, created when a son claimed his own vengeance on the Lord who killed his father, and subsequently met his demise at the rusty scythes of the Lord’s farmers. Now he roams the world of the Entity encased in his ancestral armor, out for fresh blood. When the Oni strikes his prey, he’s able to absorb Blood Orbs. Once a meter is filled with those, he unleashes new powers including a dash that closes the distance on survivors alarmingly quickly, and a deadly Demon Strike that puts survivors in the dying state with a single blow.
Legion (Frank, Susie, Joey, Julie)
Four people were burying a body in the woods when a strange presence appeared and the group followed it into the gloom. Presumed missing, the four actually became the murderous singular entity known as Legion. Legion uses a serrated hunting knife to pluck life from its victims, but the real danger is its feral frenzy, which builds up over time to unleash devastating fury.
The Artist (Carmina Mora)
The latest entrant into the arena of death that is Dead By Daylight. A gifted artist harrowed by guilt. Her life didn’t get much better when she got abducted and had her hands and tongue chopped off. A torrent of ravenous crows rescued her, but murdered her friends. The Artist wields a sharp palette blade. That murder of crows is naturally, her main ability.
Ghost Face (Danny Johnson)
There’s a good chance that if this screen icon asked a Dead By Daylight player if they liked scary movies, they’d emphatically reply, ‘duh, obviously’, but that wouldn’t stop Ghost Face from sliding that iconic tactical knife into their ribcage. Ghost Face’s power is ‘Night Shroud’, which wipes out his terror radius and leaves no red stain until he takes a stab at a survivor.
Cannibal (Bubba Sawyer/Leatherface)
Leatherface brings that iconic chainsaw along to do a little pruning on behalf of The Entity, and little is as terrifying as seeing him charge at you with it, revving away. If you do see that coming towards you, then you’re pretty much heading for the hook. Somehow the metal-toothed instrument is not nearly as vicious as his cattle-killing bludgeon known as The Sledge.
The Pig (Amanda Sawyer)
You’d think it’d be tricky to implement the Jigsaw killer into Dead By Daylight, given the hands-off approach he takes. The solution comes in the form of Amanda Sawyer, Jigsaw’s apprentice. Pig carries a hidden razor-sharp blade and is able to stealthily move about ambush players, and quite grimly, deploy reverse bear traps onto survivor’s heads.
The Doctor (Herman Carter)
While I’m disappointed this doctor isn’t Dr. Giggles, Herman Carter is still gleefully violent. The doctor beats victims with a stick and uses ‘Carter’s Spark’ to generate electric charge to his attacks, which shocks survivors, and eventually drives them to madness with repeated blows.
The Nurse (Sally Smithson)
The Nurse is thankfully quite distinct from The Doctor, equipped with a rusty bonesaw for a weapon, and the ability to make leaps through the spirit world to close the gap on unsuspecting survivors and give them a particularly nasty case of tetanus at the least. Beware abusing that teleport though, as it leaves the Nurse increasingly vulnerable to torches.
Nemesis
Probably no outside video game character is a better fit for Dead By Daylight than Resident Evil 3’s Nemesis. A hulking, relentless biological weapon fixated on its given target. Nemesis not only has his fleshy tentacles to grab hapless survivors with, but he unleashes zombies that roam the map, ready to chomp on unsuspecting prey.
Demogorgon
The flower-faced beast that terrorized the kids of Stranger Things utilizes the power of the Upside-Down to ensnare its victims alongside its sharp talons. The Demogorgon is able to create portals that allow survivors nearby to be seen by it, then teleport to that location for a surprise attack.
Trickster (Ji-Woon Hak)
This sinister K-Pop Idol is one of the more interesting original killers in Dead By Daylight. Instead of following the usual grim slasher killer types, this vividly-dressed pop star dazzles and damages victims with throwing knives before battering them with his polished head smasher; an aluminum bat with a bladed edge. Probably still has a loyal fandom on Twitter though.
Blight (Talbot Grimes)
A brilliant, but unhinged, chemist who was left for dead by those who were impacted by his controversial experiments, Talbot Grimes came back with a vengeance when his research brought him to new dimensions and transformed him into the hideous Blight. When a blow from his cane-like bonebuster isn’t enough, the Blight uses a serum to enhance his abilities, including the strength to blast through obstacles and the sabotage of generators.
Cenobite (Elliot Spencer/Pinhead)
Given the Cenobites’ love for torture and suffering, it’s no wonder Pinhead has turned up in Dead by Daylight to make use of the Entity’s sacrificial hooks alongside his own hook and chains. Pinhead’s main ability can summon portals that bring in more chains to ensnare survivors, preventing them from sprinting or even leaving through the exit until they are broken.
Nightmare (Freddy Krueger)
The most terrifying thing about this Freddy is that he looks a lot closer to his 2010 reincarnation than the Robert Englund version. Krueger’s strength comes from dragging survivors into the dreamworld, where his abilities are truly lethal. Largely invisible in reality, and that allows him to inflict microsleep on survivors, leading to their slip into the dreamworld. Luckily, survivors can be woken from their slumber in several ways.
The Clown (Jeffrey Hawk)
Of course there’s a killer clown in Dead By Daylight, and Jeffrey Hawk is a particularly sadistic one. He uses Madame Butterfly, a large butterfly knife, to carve up his victims. Hawk is a bit of an expert in relaxants and anesthetics and uses a special concoction called after-piece tonic to intoxicate his victims.
Wraith (Phillip Ojomo)
One of the original trio of Dead By Daylight killers, the Wraith is among the stealthier foes survivors can come up against. Once an immigrant fuelled by injustice after being tricked into murdering dozens of people, Phillip Ojomo now haunts the Entity’s realm with the Wailing Bell allowing him to travel into the spirit world unseen, and a club fashion from a skull and spine will be there to await survivors when Ojomo reemerged.
The Twins (Victor and Charlotte Deshayes)
Two killers in one? Well yes, albeit in typical horror baddie fashion as The Twins are actually one entity tragically fused together. Not only do the Deshayes twins use a modified sickle called the Blade of Marseille to slice up victims, but their ‘Blood Bond’ ability also allows them to separate and hunt survivors from two places at once.
Executioner (Pyramid Head)
The iconic Silent Hill monster drags his mighty knife into the world of Dead By Daylight, but thankfully won’t subject survivors to some of the more unspeakable acts he’s capable of. Still, this is a brutal killer who can leave trails on the ground that afflict survivors and make them visible. Pyramid Head doesn’t even have to drag downed survivors to hooks, as he’s able to conjure up his own variant of them called a Cage of Atonement.
Deathslinger (Caleb Quinn)
A cowboy zombie with a gun sounds like a pretty wild departure from what’s normally required of a Dead By Daylight killer, but the Deathslinger has a few modifications that ensure he’s right at home. For starters, his rifle is repurposed to be a spear gun that works both as a distance weapon and a melee weapon. With his Redeemer power, the Deathslinger can impale survivors and then reel them in for the killing blow.
