Publisher and developer Behaviour Interactive today revealed the release date for Dead by Daylight’s Chapter 23. Announced late last year, Sadako Rising is inspired by the original Ringu novel and 1998’s acclaimed feature film.
As expected, Sadako Rising introduces one new killer and survivor to Dead by Daylight, both of which should be very familiar to Ringu fans.
Known in-game as The Onryō, Sadako herself takes on the mantle of killer in Chapter 23. Although her powers weren’t detailed just yet, the short trailer accompanying the announcement shows her either teleporting or becoming invisible as she stalks her victims.
“Ringu introduces psychological horror to our game, which is very different from the slasher style our fans are used to. They can expect Sadako to come with creepy and surprising gameplay mechanics that are not found in other Killers,” said Creative Director Dave Richard.

Survivors get none other than Yoichi Asakawa. 20 years after encountering Sadako and escaping, he is a respected marine biologist whose search for answers brings him to the Fog.
Dead by Daylight’s Chapter 23 release date is now locked down to March 8, so there’s not that much of a wait until Sadako Rising launches.
