Public Test Build for Dead by Daylight is a special sandbox environment in which players can opt into testing in-dev content that hasn’t yet been fully polished.
The second function of the Dead by Daylight PTB is more interesting to players themselves - from time to time, they can glean at all-new and even unannounced content that hasn’t yet made it into the stable build.
How to access Dead by Daylight Public Test Build?
Getting to play the PTB is simple. Here’s the full procedure:
- right-click on Dead by Daylight in your Steam Library
- go to 'Properties'
- go to 'Betas'
- enter 'DbdPublicTest' and hit 'check code'
- pick the 'public-test' option in the new drop-down menu
- let Dead by Daylight update
As it stands, Dead by Daylight’s public test environment is at its 16th iteration, and it started on 9th of July, 2019. There’s no telling what sort of stuff you might find while playing the PTB, but do keep in mind that it’s all very much work-in-progress, and the playerbase is obviously smaller as well.
