Dead Cells’ Legacy update is now live, giving players access to all previous versions of the hit rogue-lite.
The Legacy update lets you go as far back as Dead Cells’ first Early Access build. Even better, all future updates will be added to the list as development moves forward, giving an easy workaround when you’re faced with permanent changes you might not be a fan of.
Dead Cells Legacy Update
You can access old versions of Dead Cells through the same process as when you opt into different betas, as explained in the announcement post:
- Go to your Steam game library.
- Right click on Dead Cells and click "properties".
- Select the tab "Betas".
- In the first dropdown box select the version you'd like to play.
- Click close and wait for the upload to finish downloading.
- Start playing.
Dead Cells’ Legacy Update also introduces backup saves that SteamCloud can’t delete, which should make recovering specific save games easier. Players will also be able to wield the new Ice Shield and Ice Armor weapons which excel at crowd control and panic reduction.
Three of the game’s most used weapons have been reworked, a festive Christmas Skin was added and, lastly, players have access to 2 new mutations which Survival players should be positively surprised by as they allow “more synthesis with ice effects”.
Dead Cells is also discounted by 30% as part of the Steam Winter Sale 2019, bringing its price down to 17,49€ or your regional equivalent.
