Dead Island 2 brings its sizeable contribution to the yearly count of zombies we get to brutally slaughter and, if you’ve been keeping an eye on the game since it was announced all those years back, you may be wondering if it also launches on Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart.
Dead Island 2’s availability on PC Game Pass would allow anyone who subscribes to Microsoft’s popular service to play through as much of the game as they want without having to commit to a full purchase.

Given how the first-person action game also has a co-op element, it could also ensure a broader pool of players to pick from, provided it also included crossplay at launch.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Dead Island 2 will bring its brand of zombie dismemberment to Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Microsoft’s subscription service hasn’t been mentioned much prior to the game coming out, so it looks like we will have to purchase the game outright if we plan on playing it as soon as it becomes available.
There’s still a chance for things to change in the lead-up to release, however, even if that doesn’t happen, all hope is not lost.
The Xbox Game Pass library gets frequent refreshes, with old games leaving and new ones taking their place. This means that Dead Island 2 could make its way on there at some point in the future.
We’ll keep an eye out for any updates on that front and let you know should anything change. For more about Dead Island 2, check out what we know about whether or not GeForce Now support might be planned.
