As unique as it was divisive, Death Stranding was confirmed to not remain a PS4 exclusive for long, news of it coming to PC – albeit without a release date – appearing as early as November of last year.
But when will the title be out and is it headed to Valve’s storefront? Here’s everything we know about Death Stranding’s PC release date and whether or not it’s coming to Steam.
Death Stranding PC Steam Release Date
The answer is yes, Death Stranding will make its way over to Steam and the Epic Games Store simultaneously, steering clear of being exclusive to just one storefront.
Moreso, the title’s Steam version will come with several cosmetic items inspired by Half-Life. These include Alyx’s gloves, Gordon Freeman’s glasses, a headcrab hat and the iconic valve from Valve’s logo, all equipable by protagonist Sam Bridges.
Death Stranding’s PC release date was initially set for June 2, 2020, however, the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent work-from-home orders led to Kojima Productions delaying the launch until July 14, 2020.
The PC version will launch with a photo mode, “high frame rate” and ultra-wide monitor support, and is currently available for pre-order.
