Destiny 2 crossplay is one of the most requested features of the game, and the developers, Bungie, are well-aware of that. They’ve even made the first step in that direction with the release of their cross-save tool, but the game isn’t quite there just yet.
While the number of PC Destiny 2 players is booming following the game’s transfer from Battle.net to Steam, allowing people to join forces across platforms would be the ultimate move Bungie could make to unify their playerbase. Could this happen in the future?
Is Destiny 2 Cross-Platfrom?
It was a few months back that Mark Noseworthy, Bungie’s General Manager, tweeted that while the company was then focused on deploying a stable version of cross-save, they’re very much interested in getting cross-play up and running, too. As it turns out, Destiny 2’s cross-save feature came out just fine, and with very few bugs for Bungie to chew through.
Very recently, Sony too came out saying that they’re now open to enabling cross-platform play across the board, and with Xbox pushing cross-platform features for a while now, it seems the only remaining issue is in actually having enough time for Bungie to implement it.
Of course, it remains to be seen if this is on the developers’ docket at all, but their post-Activision history has been quite platform-agnostic so far. Anything is possible.
