Even if you've not had much experience with contemporary RPGs, you've probably heard of Divinity: Original Sin 2,</b> Larian's flagship release, and only one of the best RPGs ever to be released on PC. In fact, we think it's so good, it's been included on not one but two different best-of lists on Game Watcher!
In any case, the game's been out for a while now, but the developers have an interesting habit of releasing 'Definitive Edition' versions of their latest titles - free of charge. The release of one such improved build for Divinity: Original Sin 2 has marked the end of active development for the game.
Due to the fact that the development of Divinity: Original Sin 2 was nudged by Kickstarter, Larian have kept their backers in the loop over the years by releasing updates on how development is going, and how things are in general. Their latest post, however, is the final one for Original Sin 2.
With the release of Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition, developers have shut down any sort of active development for the game, short of hotfixing issues as they pop up. According to Larian, they've since moved on to other projects, though no word on what those are.
In any case, if you're looking for a truly great RPG to play (with co-op, mind), you need not look further than Divinity: Original Sin 2. It is currently available at a 10% off via Steam, and purchasing the game will net you both the original and the Definitive Edition to choose from. Stay tuned for any news on Larian's future projects, though!
