Diablo 2: Resurrected’s post-launch support continues and the next step on its journey will bring the long-awaited ladder rank play to the hack and slash RPG, making its patch 2.4 release date a hot topic among players.
Diablo 2: Resurrected’s patch 2.4 PTR release date also markeds the first opportunity to try out the game’s latest set of balance changes that target underused skills, while hopefully letting the desert mercenary take a bit of a break from killing demons by buffing the other three potential allies.

A PTR update was scheduled for January 12, but Global Community Development Lead Adam Fletcher clarified that it covered upcoming server and database changes.
After sticking for a while to a vague early 2022 launch window, Blizzard confirmed that it locked down Diablo II: Resurrected’s first patch 2.4 PTR release date to January 25. A second test went live on March 2, focusing on ladder functionality, Uber Diablo updates, and more.

The developer previously noted that ranked ladder play would not be part of the patch’s first PTR cycle, which focused on the extensive amount of upcoming balance changes.

On March 24, the developer confirmed that Diablo II: Resurrected’s patch 2.4 release date has been locked in to April 14 while ladder is set to launch two weeks later. This gap gives the team enough time to iron out any post-release kinks.
The update was originally scheduled to go live towards the end of March, but a number of issues that arose during its stay on the PTR prompted its delay.
