Diablo 2: Resurrected’s patch 2.8 brings with it more changes for Blizzard’s remastered action-RPG, likely coinciding with its fifth season. If you’re eager to make the most out of a new character, you’ll want to keep track of its release date.
Typically, Blizzard makes updates available on the PTR before pushing them to live servers, giving players a chance to test the new additions and balance changes while offering feedback. Its predecessor proved to be an exception to this rule, but there’s a chance that things will return to normal with patch 2.8.

Diablo II: Resurrected’s patch 2.8 release date hasn’t been officially revealed yet. Although plans can change, we can try our hand at estimating when it might go live based on the cadence of past releases.
Patch 2.8 will likely go live alongside season 5. Given how Blizzard’s original plan included releasing updates every four months or so, there’s a chance that we could see it go live at some point in September 2023.
