Diablo 2: Resurrected captures the essence of the classic action-RPG while giving it a fresh coat of paint alongside some welcome quality of life improvements, all fit for our modern era. The original launched during a time where subscription services like Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart were difficult to conceptualize, which sees fans wondering whether or not the title’s new version might also make that jump.
Diablo 2: Resurrected will be a multi-platform release, which is in line with Blizzard’s recent approach to its new titles. While the developer has shifted away from its PC-only approach to games, Xbox Game Pass subscribers won’t get to hack and slash their way through hell’s armies right away.
Diablo II: Resurrected will not be available on Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart at launch and Blizzard has yet to give any sign that it might arrive on the service at a later date.
In fact, none of the developer’s games are available on Microsoft’s subscription service at this time. If you’re looking to play as soon as the game drops, you’re going to have to go with a traditional purchase, like the adventurers of old.
Naturally, this doesn’t completely exclude the possibility of Diablo II: Resurrected arriving on Xbox Game Pass at a later point in time. Strategies change and, as it gears up for new releases like Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2, the developer could open up to the possibility of making its games more easily reachable.
We’ll update this article as soon as we learn new details about Diablo II: Resurrected coming to Xbox Game Pass.
