In the vast realm of Diablo 4, strategically crafting your character entails an understanding of various stats. Acquainting yourself with the unique Thorns stat and its damage mechanics can enrich your typical character build and potentially unlock innovative configurations.
Thorns is a potent offensive stat in Diablo 4, one among many at your disposal. If you’ve spent some time exploring Sanctuary, chances are you’ve stumbled upon this stat on various items collected throughout your adventurous journey.
Diablo 4 Thorns
Should you be pondering over what exactly Thorns does or how it functions, the concept is relatively straightforward. In Diablo 4, the Thorns stat retaliates against enemies, inflicting damage when they strike you with direct attacks.
This means that when the nasty bandit lands a blow, your health goes down but so does his. As you probably expect, attacks that exclusively deal damage over time are not affected.
You can check your current Thorns stat by opening your character screen (C), clicking on the Materials & Stats button, then scrolling down to the very bottom of the Offensive section.
The higher the amount of Thorns, the more effective it is. In addition, its damage is affected by the Skill damage increase obtained via the primary stat for your class (Intelligence for Necromancers, Strength for Barbarians).
Diablo 4’s Thorns offensive stat basically allows you to deal an extra chunk of damage, punishing enemies who manage to attack you and ensuring that they die quicker.
