Doom Eternal is now available, featuring both an intense singleplayer campaign and the asymmetrical multiplayer Battlemode. But is cross-platform support also part of the package?
Here’s everything we know about Doom Eternal cross-platform support and whether or not you can play with or against players on other platforms.
Doom Eternal Cross-Platform
Bethesda and id Software have clarified whether or not Doom Eternal launches with cross-platform support and, sadly, there’s no good news to report.
“DOOM Eternal currently does not support cross-platform multiplayer”, the launch FAQ post reads. This means that for the moment at least, players can only battle others on the same platform.
While there are no known plans to add cross-platform support to Doom Eternal at the moment, id Software is viewing the game as an online-focused experience and will continue updating it with post-launch content.
With a bit of luck, cross-platform support could be coming to Doom Eternal further down the line. In the meantime, check out our Doom Eternal review for our thoughts on the singleplayer campaign.
