Publisher and developer Funcom today announced the debut of its new series of Dune: Awakening Direct digital showcases through which it intends to share more details about the upcoming open-world survival MMO.
The first one is scheduled to go live on March 4, 2024 at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET/5 PM GMT. Hosted by Soe Gschwind, it will feature fresh footage of the game as part of two new videos.
Dune: Awakening Direct Showcase Announced
One of these videos is a gameplay reveal trailer that promises “a taste of what it’s like to soar across open Dunes in your ornithopter, survive the sandworms, and build your first shelter. “
We’ll then be treated to a featurette titled Creating Worlds, from Book to Film to Game. Going by its title, it likely delves deeper into how Arrakis is being brought to life.
It includes interviews with cinematographer Greig Fraser, who has worked on Dune’s recent film adaptations, and Funcom Creative Director Joel Bylos.
The first Dune: Awakening Direct showcase can be watched on Funcom’s YouTube and Twitch channels.
Those eager to jump in and play the game before its official launch can sign up for a chance to participate in beta tests over on its official website.
