Funcom and Shiro Games have confirmed that the first DLC for Dune: Spice Wars, one of the best strategy games available right now across PC and consoles, will be released on the 7th March.
The DLC is known as House Vernius of Ix, and Funcom says it will provide full details on the new faction tomorrow.
House Vernius does not feature in any of the original works written by Frank Herbert. However, this faction was introduced by Herbert’s son, Brian, and co-author Kevin J. Anderson, in the prequel series “Prelude to Dune” (1999–2001) and “Heroes of Dune” (2008–present).
The first DLC for Dune Spice Wars releases in March
A free major update will be released on the same day as the House Vernius DLC, adding the Heroes of Dune content to the base game as well as addressing community feedback and bugs.
More details about this significant update are expected over the weekend, and we will update this article with new information as soon as it becomes available.
After a lengthy stay in early access, Dune: Spice Wars fully launched in September 2023.
The game is currently available on PC and Xbox Series X/S, with no information yet regarding a release on PlayStation 5.
