Publisher Funcom and developer Shiro Games have announced that Dune: Spice Wars’ latest update, titled Lines in the Sand is set to go live for all players today.
Building upon the updates that preceded it, Lines in the Sand focuses on introducing improvements and quality of life tweaks to Dune: Spice Wars’ early access version.

Answering player feedback, an end-of-game stats screen has been added, allowing you to review your performance before starting anew.
In addition, military units have been rebalanced and received a set of significant AI improvements. Map generation and starting spawns have also been tweaked and should now result in fairer game starts.
The Lines in the Sand update also introduces a Landsraad bar that more clearly shows the system’s various phases, making them easier to track.
According to the publisher, players can also expect “new regions, military gear, village traits, spying operations, and councilor reworks,” among other changes.
Dune: Spice Wars is currently available in early access. Its full release is slated to occur at some point later this year.
The next major update will add a new game mode called Conquest and will likely not be the last before the game’s full launch.
