Dying Light 2 gives you plenty of things to do on the way to reaching max level, but if you plan on unlocking Aiden’s full potential, hitting the level cap will see you keeping track of two different experience points alongside your player rank.
Although reaching Dying Light 2’s max level does require effort on your part, it’s well baked into playing the game, exploring Villedor, and completing as many activities as possible. Here’s what we know about the game’s level cap, experience, and player rank.
Dying Light 2 Max Level
Dying Light 2 Level Cap and Experience
The game splits its skill tree into two. One side governs Aiden’s combat abilities, another his parkour skills. Each side tracks experience separately.
Every time you gain enough to level up by either completing quests, activities, or simply performing actions related to that tree, you can spend a Combat or Parkour point to unlock one of its skills.
Pulling off advanced moves rewards more experience, while venturing out at night comes with a special bonus that adds up and is awarded if you survive until daybreak.
Both Dying Light 2’s Combat and Parkour level caps currently sit at 25, which means you should be able to unlock all available skills eventually. Over the course of the 50+ hours we spent with the game, we got both up to level 18.
Dying Light 2 Player Rank
As you level up Parkour and Combat Skills, you also increase your Player Rank in Dying Light 2. Not only does it unlock higher-level gear that Aiden can find and equip, but it also indicates when you’re ready to tackle Villedor’s more difficult districts.
Each one has a number range assigned to it on the map. You’re free to tackle them even before your Player Rank falls within that range, but doing so will make things more difficult.
Dying Light 2 Health and Stamina Max Level
Dying Light 2’s last level cap is tied to Aiden’s health and stamina. Improving these can only be done by obtaining Inhibitors.
They’re mostly earned from certain activities such as looting GRE facilities or defeating Revenants at GRE Anomaly spots, then looting the containers in the nearby trailers. You will, however, also get some as you complete main missions and other activities.
As soon as you obtain 3 inhibitors, you can use them to either level up health or stamina in your Skills menu. The former makes you more resistant in battle, while the latter ensures you won’t run out of breath as quickly while pulling off parkour moves or fighting.
I’m not sure what the max level for either is but can confirm that you can take them up to at least level 11.
That’s what you need to know about Dying Light 2’s max level, its several level caps, and player rank. For more on the game, check out our guides on its point of no return and weapons.
