As it stands, Dying Light's foray into battle royale has the status of 'mixed' reviews on Steam, and has a very low player count for one such high-profile game, especially when compared to the initial launch of the original Dying Light.
According to Steamcharts, Dying Light: Bad Blood has so far peaked at no more than 452 concurrent players, with less than fifty of them enjoying the game at the time of writing this article. Let us remind you that Dying Light launched with 45 000 concurrent players, and that it attained no less than 50% of that during the recent sale.
Now, while numbers may well be damning, it is worth noting that Dying Light: Bad Blood is planned to go fully F2P as soon as it's released, and that a significant portion of negative reviews cite either the lack of players, the fact that the game is unfinished/unpolished, or that there are bugs. Early Access, right?
If this is any indication of Dying Light: Bad Blood's real issues, then this is nothing that Techland couldn't salvage their low-population battle royale from, and we might see the game rise from its perceived mediocrity further down the line.
