Techland’s latest zombie opus is on the horizon, but what is the Dying Light: The Beast release date? When will it be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025?
It’s 10 years since Techland launched the Dying Light franchise, and in that time, we’ve had two sprawling zombie-smashing games full of parkour and pain, as well as some successful expansions for each.
Now, a new standalone Dying Light game is on the way. Dying Light: The Beast brings back the original game’s protagonist, Kyle Crane. Crane has been in captivity since the events of Dying Light and has been experimented on.
Now he’s back in the post-apocalyptic world and finds himself in Castor Woods, which used to be a massive tourist destination but now houses very few humans and far too many undead.
Kyle Crane was a savior in the city of Harran 13 years ago, but can he help those in need here in Castor Woods? And will anyone trust him if they discover his secret, monstrous abilities?
Fans of the franchise will no doubt be salivating at the prospect of diving into another round of Dying Light, but when will they get that opportunity?
what is the Dying Light: The Beast Release Date?
- Dying Light: The Beast Release Date: Summer 2025
At The Game Awards 2024, it was revealed that Dying Light: The Beast’s tentative release date is Summer 2025. There is no concrete month or date, but hopefully, that will emerge in the next few months.
Dying Light: The Beast features a new rural open world to run, jump, and fight in. Driving returns for the first time since Dying Light: The Following. It also sees series staple 4-player co-op continue. You’ll need it if you want to survive. Like other Dying Light games, daytime is dangerous enough, but things worsen when night falls.
The original Dying Light was released in January 2015, and received an expansion, The Following, in February of 2016. After a lengthy development cycle, Techland released Dying Light 2 in February 2022. The Bloody Ties expansion would follow in November of that year.
Dying Light: The Beast had begun as an expansion for Dying Light 2, but Techland felt it had grown to the point it was enough to release as a standalone new entry in the series.
Techland has confirmed Dying Light: The Beast will be free for anyone who purchased the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
You can wishlist it now on Steam.
