The latest in the very long line of Dynasty Warrior-related games, Dynasty Warrior 9 Empires, is coming to PC early next year, and alongside developer Omega Force, publisher Koei Tecmo has revealed some fresh details on the tactical-action title, including a pre-release demo.
As well as the typical 1 against 1,000 Musou action found in regular entries, Empires throws in a strategic side that embraces the tactics and politics behind the historical wars players normally pummel their way through. This now means there’s flexibility to battles that allows players to reshape history itself, and create new scenarios through tactical choice.
By choosing different roles throughout different eras, players can drastically alter relationships with their officers, and even continue legacies with any protagonist’s children becoming playable once they get old enough to battle.
The game is set for release on February 15, 2022, but Koei Tecmo has promised a demo will arrive before that that not only lets players sample the improved castle sieges and edit mode, but will allow for any progress to carry over into the full game, provided you stay on the same platform.
Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires charges onto PC next year, with a Google Stadia release coming further down the line.
