Dyson Sphere Program is one of 2021’s Steam Early Access hits, having caught the eye of many players with its mixture of resource gathering and factory building. Covering entire planets in structures would, however, be easier and less lonely when done alongside friends, raising the question of whether co-op and multiplayer support is available.
Unfortunately, the short answer is: no. Dyson Sphere Program does not currently include co-op or multiplayer in any shape or form. The two features are also not present on the game’s roadmap, but all hope is not yet lost.
Although publisher Gamera Game and developer Youthcat Studio haven’t approached the topic, Reddit moderator -Pulz has provided further insight into their stance on the matter:
“The game is singleplayer only and there are no plans for multiplayer right now. It hasn’t been ruled out, just not planned right now,” they wrote.
“With that said, since modding support is planned you may see the community put something together, and maybe when the game is finished the developers will have a look into multiplayer.”
While the lack of multiplayer and co-op from Dyson Sphere Program will inevitably disappoint some players, knowing that it hasn’t been ruled out entirely could suggest that the team behind the game is open to listening to player feedback.
Considering the growing number of forum threads asking about these features, there’s still a chance that we’ll get to play alongside friends later in Early Access or after launch. A first update to the title’s roadmap is expected to arrive at some point in February.
Dyson Sphere Program available on PC in Steam Early Access.
