Command and Conquer Remastered has now officially been confirmed by EA! Not only that, but they've also confirmed that there are two fully-fledged PC RTS games coming our way.
More specifically, the two titles that are going to be rebuilt practically from scratch are Command and Conquer: Tiberian Dawn Remastered and Command and Conquer: Red Alert Remastered, and this includes all of the expansion packs released for the games in question, too.
Speaking on behalf of EA, Creative Director Jim Vesella officially announced via a Reddit post that plans to remaster the original Command & Conquer titles and bring them up to par with the latest and greatest offerings of the genre.
"Today, I’m thrilled to tell you we are going back to the beginning. We have decided to remaster Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn," said Vesella. "But what about the classic expansion packs you may ask - Covert Ops, Counterstrike, and Aftermath? Well, C&C and Red Alert wouldn’t be the same without them, so all three expansion packs will be bundled with the base games into one remastered collection - without microtransactions."
There's plenty of reason to be optimistic about these remasters, too, because the developers behind this project are none other than Petroglyph Games, and with them comes a certain famous composer, too...
In other words - stay tuned.
