Elden Ring was shrouded in mystery for a few years following its reveal but as its February 25 release draws closer, we now have a pretty good idea of how FromSoftware’s approach differs this time around. A sprawling open world, dungeons, and mounted combat suggest an evolution from the developer’s past titles, prompting players to wonder if we might see it on Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart in 2022.
Elden Ring arriving on Xbox Game Pass would give Microsoft’s subscription service yet another major title, adding to an already impressive list. Not only that, but players who might be on the fence about getting the game or whose curiosity is piqued by George R. R. Martin’s involvement, would have a less costly avenue of trying it out.
Elden Ring Xbox Game Pass
At the moment, however, it doesn’t seem like Elden Ring will make its way to Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart at launch. The list of platforms on which the game launches doesn’t include the subscription service and there is no official word suggesting that support might be on the way.
Neither Dark Souls nor Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice made their way to Xbox Game Pass until now, which makes Elden Ring’s absence even less surprising. That being said, things can change in the lead-up to launch or after it. As we’ve recently seen, Total War: Warhammer 3 will be the first in the long-running series to debut on Microsoft’s subscription service at launch.
We’ll update this article as soon as we hear more about Elden Ring becoming available on Xbox Game Pass. In the meantime, here’s a look at its collector’s editions, which come with a pretty awesome statue and helmet.
